“This renowned theatre, specialising in dance, offers a bewildering array of facilities and a visit here can be an inspirational experience, if only to see what is achievable.” The Rough Guide to Accessible Britain
Sadler's Wells is committed to opening the theatre to new audiences and experiences, and developing opportunities for all of our patrons to explore dance. Disability access has always been a top priority, and Sadler's Wells maintains a tradition of accessibility to the widest possible audience. We offer an entire complex designed to provide excellent access and facilities for people with disabilities, whether as members of an audience, a performer or staff. Since the theatre's re-development in 1998, we have strived to encourage the belief that what is right for a person with disabilities is right for everyone.
As well as a fully accessible building, Sadler's Wells provides assisted performances where possible. These usually take the form of audio described or British Sign Language interpreted performances. Please see individual show pages for more details.
Some patrons may be interested in joining Deaf Debating Dance at Sadler's Wells, giving you a regular monthly opportunity to meet other dance enthusiasts, voice your opinion in informal post show discussions whilst enjoying reduced ticket prices.
Alongside the performance season, our Creative Learning Connect Department offers a wealth of fully accessible educational opportunities for all ages and abilities.
If you are in receipt of disability-related state benefits, as a member of our Access for All register, you may be entitled to a reduction on the cost of your ticket. Reduced price tickets are limited to one booking per production. To claim your discounted tickets you will need to join the Access Scheme. This will keep you up to date with what's going on at Sadler's Wells, and in a format that suits you.
Your continual support is vital to the further development of Sadler's Wells, so we welcome all conversation with our patrons. Please feel free to contact Sarah Howard, Access Officer if you require further information and/or disability related assistance.
