Big Dance

The T-Mobile Big Dance 2010 is a citywide celebration of dance organised by the Mayor of London and Arts Council England to promote dance and increase levels of physical activity in the run up to the 2012 Olympic Games.

Big Dance originated in 2006 and is the world's biggest and most influential dance initiative. The five key organisations that will coordinate activity locally through a series of hubs are Sadler's Wells, East London Dance, English National Ballet, Greenwich Dance Agency and Siobhan Davies Dance.

Sadler's Wells is delighted to have the opportunity to lead the celebration on behalf of the north London hub. Sadler's Wells' Creative Learning department, Connect, already has well established relationships with its neighbouring boroughs and through the overall aims of Big Dance we hope to reflect the diverse dance activity in the area.

Sadler's Wells envisages delivering a programme of activity which encompasses the boroughs of Barnet, Camden, City, Enfield, Haringey and Islington, involving all sections of the community and encouraging everyone to take part in some form of dance.

Big Dance activities will be promoted on this page so check regularly to see the latest update on dance activities, performances and workshops in your area.
