This is part of Spring Dance at the London Coliseum, also featuring Ballet Nacional de Cuba, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Ballet Nacional de España.
Described by The Washington Post as America's “Mozart of modern dance”, Mark Morris has changed forever the way audiences see modern dance. He returns to the London Coliseum to present his brilliant and majestic L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato.
When it premiered in 1988
L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato was instantly heralded as a landmark work. The musical landscape includes
Handel’s pastoral ode set to the poetry of John Milton. The set design includes inspiration from
William Blake's later watercolours illustrating
Milton's poems. Boasting 24 dancers,
ENO’s Orchestra and four outstanding vocal soloists, don’t miss “one of the very greatest dances of the late 20th century” (Boston Herald) as it returns to London for the first time in ten years.
- "Once in a very rare while something comes along that simply has to be seen. For dance fans that something is Mark Morris's L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato, just over two hours of blissful dance - and music"
